Ok My trunk latch does not lock. it is either stuck in lock position or open position but it will not stay closed. My first question is if I can fix it what do I do, and my second is where can I buy a new trunk latch I looked everywhere and nobody has them let me know please thanks.

cables broken, get a new one from the dealership. removed panels around trunk latch, b pillar panel and carpet inside trunk and pull the cable out with the new cable tied to it and hook up the new one.

its not the cable becuse I had a carbon fiber trunk on it before and it closed.

mine is the same. it sometimes requires slamming to get it to close...

i even replaced it with a 01-02 accord opener to get keyless... though that did reduce the force required to close it.

I had to adjust the striker on my trunk latch to get it to close and stayed closed. I guess over the years, it slowly worked itself downwards until the latch had trouble catching it. I found that out when I stuffed myself in the trunk and watched it closing. I loosened the two bolts and moved the striker up a bit.

go hit the junk yard and get a new latch.

I tried this on mine, but it was already as far up as it would travel. I removed it and discovered that it was actually bent at the base of the loop. So, I flipped it over and reinstalled it and that worked.
