'01 & '04-'05 Ex Coupe Taillight Compatability
I have a 2001 Ex Coupe and I am wondering what the application differences are between the '01-'03 model years and the '04-'05 models years. The shape of the reverse light, the number of light sockets ('01-'03 has 4, and '04-'05 has 3) are the two obvious changes that I do notice. I guess what I'm getting at is: Will '04-'05 tail lamps legally work in an '01, since they don't have the socket for the side marker lamp? Thanks in advance.

The tail-light swap is covered in the FAQ's here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-2001-2005-78/faqs-guidelines-read-before-posting-2101211/
Please take a look at that thread before making new threads, going forward.

I had previously read that FAQ, and it did not answer my questions. There is a difference with the turn signal socket(the top one) between the two models, and I was wondering how this is corrected. And as I originally asked, Does no longer having a side marker lamp cause any problems with law enforcement officers?
I also did a search and I found a few threads regarding questions of a similar nature, but no clear answers to my particular questions. They all either just say "yeah, it is an easy swap", or just people douching on people for not searching or reading the FAQ. Thanks anyway though.
