^ I'd pm "Casey". He just bought and installed the kit and looks pretty good from what I've seen.

My car is finally done, its nothing outrageous or spectacular but everything was done by myself and my bestfriend, Joel. We cut the studs off the firewall, removed useless brackets and such. Then we primed and painted the bay, via touch up paint from the auto paint store.
We did a full brake tuck, rebuilt the engine harness (deleting unnecessary plugs and wiring).
I took the car down to the shop to get aligned, tuned and have exhaust made. we're tuning Saturday (as long as I dont have to work).
I need to get a overflow tank for the radiator and eventually wanna upgrade to a fullwidth radiator w/slim fans mounted on the frunt.
Any suggestions, please let me know!

Bay looks good. Check out the rywire overflow's. Aluminum rad with slim fan would complete. I like the look of the engine as well the paint and stuff doesn't last and sometimes look cheezy. As far as slim fan make sure its designed for pusher if you mount it in front. I was told the pullers were not designed for pusher even though you can reverse the polarity.

Wow great job! Was that all done with a rattle can or out of a spray gun?

Yep, i painted my long block aluminum and it looked like a piece of plastic lol, i took all the paint off and sprayed it hot rod grey. It doesn't look fake but i'm just gonna try to clean it up the best i can to the original finish.

For the EK's storing the fusebox in the glove box, any pictures of the set up? I'm just seeing the best way to keep it in there. The pictures of it on the front page are dead.
Also, has anyone stuck a Dry Cell battery in the glove box? Is there enough room for the fusebox and smaller Gruber/Odyssey battery? Is this a terrible idea?
Thanks

I wish I could get away with the bare aluminum. The first build I ever did I didn't paint. It looked brand spanking new when I got it running and within a couple of years it was so scaly and nasty I couldn't stand it. Our local water is very hard (I about lose my mind just trying to keep my damn shower doors clean!). I've painted every one I've built since and it always holds up great.

Hopefully the car will be running in the next two months.

3/20/12: Sitting here in Houston Texas waiting on delayed plane departure, figured I might as well share some more pictures lol. I got these this morning, the paint work was done by my friend while I am on vacation (he is also doing my roll cage work). Hoping to have the motor and everything back in the car this coming Sunday

Looks like the paint is lifting or fisheyeing a bunch, maybe an oily/greasy painting surface... That was before clear hopefully and he can sand it all down and smooth it out before he sprays the clear?

I'm a firm believer that with good prep work and lots of sanding a rattle can bay can look almost as good as a professionally painted bay. It won't hold up as well, but if you redo it every couple years it isn't too bad.... I keep mine polished and waxed and it holds up pretty darn well.

The paint is from a 2010 infinity, they call it midnight mocha and it does go between purple and brown. Not sure who's paint ur talking about but mine isn't fish eyeing or lifting lol

It might look better in person but from the pictures it seems like a bad choice of color.

Around the driver's side mount it just looks lumpy or something. Not really sure how to describe it, but almost looks like the pressure wasn't high enough on the gun. Just doesn't have a smooth reflection in the paint.

Maybe it's the picutre but it does look like it has a ton of orange peel and it looks pretty bad around the brake booster area. Hopefully it's just a crappy picture

No pictures at the moment, but what I did (since my dash was out) i also removed the portion of the ac, blower motor?, that sits above the passengers foot area. Its pretty easy to drop it- just take ur time. Once thats dropped its easier to pull the plugs for the bottom of the fusebox in through the firewall. you might have to separate your harness, im pretty sure i did this as well. Now that the area where the ac blower motor is vacant you can remove 1 clip holding down the harness to the inside of the "firewall" so it has a lot more slack. this way when you install the ac's blower motor back the harness goes in front (towards the glovebox) as opposed to behind it. You have to cut some of the back part of your glovebox so the fusebox can sit flush so it closes into place. its not all that hard- just takes time. now for the wire that goes from the alternator to the fusebox, you're gonna have to extend it as well, dont use any cheapy wire either. you can either have this extended wire running from the alternator through that grommet that is held on by 2 10mm bolts, or unless you have a tucked engine harness you can run that cable through there and just run it along the firewall, between the ac blower motor, and into the glovebox area. ill pm you pictures when theres some light outside.

Haha there's definitley no orange peel, bubbling, fish eyeing, runs, ect according to my brother in law who just picked the car up for me today. I'm gonna blame shitty cell phone pics. As for the color its whatever, to be honest I don't really like the color of my car but I'm not mismatching the bay or repainting the whole car this year so ill make due with it
