That was sarcastic haha, I don't see why anyone would try to make their car look old, beat up, and rusty. Especially after making it look as nice as some of them did.

i think some people in this thread have rat rod confused with hood ride tho...

to me, rat rod = satin black and pinstripe with white walls etc...

hood ride = rust/overall ghettofab but coolness

Ah, I must've read something incorrectly along the way. You're right, the VW crowd does encourage originality and I envy them for it.
