In the nsx the amplifiers are built into the speakers, so all that was necessary was a switch (in front of the ebrake), to turn on power to the amps - if you leave this switch in the 'on' position it goes on/off with the car. The blitz controller is hooked directly to the battery, and also to switched power - it will trickle charge the ipod up to 20 minutes after the ignition is turned off.

The carbon stereo-delete center piece is from dali racing.

Song control is via the ipod, and volume is via the click wheel.

Not really... I don't particularly care for radio, and was only using the (heavy) double din headunit for controlling the cd changer - with the ipod I would no longer use the cd changer, and I would have still been stuck with this large headunit only acting as a go-between for the ipod and speakers, so I eliminated those parts of the system I would no longer be using.

I am also going to be getting quotes for shaving the rear antenna next week... no functionality that I cared about has been lost, if this answers your question, and the ipod's location makes it very easy to control.

Looks really clean and simple! I would do the same if I had an nsx.

BTW: I notice mine sometimes charges for longer than 20 minutes after ignition is turned off...i'm just worried about draining the car battery. Did I hook it up to the wrong wires behind the HU?

BTW Much props for the radio delete. I never use the radio either solely my iPod but I didn't know it'd be possible to run an audio setup w/o a HU...since w/ my Blitz, I can't control the volume on the iPod.</TD></TR></TABLE>

It sounds like you have have not hooked up the 'switched +12V' correctly, as this is how it knows the car is off... as far as draining the battery is concerned, I doubt this will be an issue as the ipod automatically stops charging once it is fully charged (the battery/lightning bolt icon appears), so while you would still be providing power to the unit it wouldn't be significant enough to cause concern.

The dock connector on the bottom of the ipod is not affected by the volume of the unit, the way I got around this (and eliminated the headunit) was to have a second rca to mini stereo cable run to the top of the ipod, so the dock connector is only for charging, and audio output is from the headphone jack - this way the click wheel controls volume.

That looks like a cool setup. What keeps the iPod in place? Is there something for the belt clip to attach to, or is there a recess there?

There is a small square of radio shack's "superlock" that keeps it in place, sort of like velcro on crack... the two cables also lock into the unit, so they also contribute to keeping it in place.
