Weird Power Window Problem.
Working with a 96 Accord LX 4 door. It is the front driver side, the window regulator was broken. I replaced it with a new aftermarket window regulator. It works but the switch and the regulator don't work together correctly. If I press down the window goes up, and vice versa. Now I have tried 4 different window regulators and they have all done the same thing. I have tried a good main window switch and it works the same way on this car. I also took the window from this car and put it on another 96 LX I have and it worked correctly as it should on that car.
What in the hell is going on here?
P, I could use your advice on this one.
I have done a thousand of these over the years and have never came across this problem before.

Re: Weird Power Window Problem.
How is the wiring and ground on this connector? when you removed the switch to put the regulator in, did you bother something or did the pins come out of the connector? That sounds like the functions are reversed.
I had a bum passenger side rear window switch on my Buick and had to temporarily use a drivers side rear window switch in order to have the window go down with the master switch.
If one used that switch to roll the window down, one would discover that the functions were reversed (i.e. pushing the the button up caused the window to go down instead of up etc)
Check your wiring
Cheers

Re: Weird Power Window Problem.
You find it hard to believe?!? Thanks for all of your help BTW.
I have been buying and selling cars/trucks since 91'. I own a used car dealership and specialize in Honda's! I have probably bought and sold over 2,000 honda's over the years. So, yes I have done probably over a thousand of these drivers side window regulator's. These aftermarket regulator's have always worked for me in the past.

You are also telling me that the problem couldn't be the aftermarket regulator since you use them so often?
Well.....keep beating your head againest a wall or get another regulator.
I am glad you appreciated my help.

Re: Weird Power Window Problem.
Well I tested this exact aftermarket window regulator on another 96 accord and it worked perfectly. I definitely think it is something wrong with this particular car. So, I have tested the main switch and now the regulator. What next?

Re: Weird Power Window Problem.
Use a multimeter, and measure from one wire to ground. Write that result down. Do that for all of your wires and you should be able to figure out which wires do what. Then switch them. Most likely two are positive and negative for up, the other two are positive and negative down.

If I'm guessing right, your regulator's wires are red/yellow/green/blue? Cross the red and green wires between the motor and the assembly. Yellow and blue can be left alone.
