Tranny swap affects distributor??
I had a question posted about this in my last post, and my thanks go out to the people who have helped me understand. Now back to the question. My Accord is a 1997 LX and I will be doing a tranny swap to a 5-speed. In the write-up under Accord FAQ (which by the way is amazing...thank you for the great write-up) it says that I will need a new distributor for the swap, specifically the td52u or td59u. Now why does this need to be replaced, and will I pretty much be switching to internal coil? How hard is this? Were there different 5-speed ECU's that went with the different distributor? And last but not least, am I overcomplicating this process??

The honda parts catalog shows TD-76U [TEC] for the 97 5 speed distributor and external coil.
Now I'm confused I never noticed that the automatic uses Hitachi internal coil distributor.
