Timing belt replacement.
First of all, I search the forum here for this topic and didn't find it. I have a 1997 Honda Accord DX 4D 2.2L. For awhile now I've been doing my own maintenence on my car after getting ripped by mechanics in my area on labor and car part prices.
Recently, I discovered that my timing belt replacement is way overdue. According to Chilton's, it was due around 90K I think, but I'm at 109K now. I haven't looked at it yet, but I'm already determined to replace it either by myself, or take it to a mechanic as a last resort.
Therefore, I would like to know from someone who has changed one on this model car if it's too hard for the do it yourself type guy? Also, I was wondering how hard it is to get at the belts in any case... Thanks again....

have fun, it's just a pain in the *** to do. MAKE SURE you either already have or go get this, it's the retainer piece that holds the balance seal in the block, its only a few bucks, and will save yur motor when it does, and will, coem out...

Re: Timing belt replacement. (Calean007)
Patience and time is what you're gonna need to do it yourself. Definitely replace the water pump while your in there. I don't know what the DX is like (F22 something?) but my EX wasn't too difficult but it was time consuming. The hardest part is getting the belt on and making sure the timing is right. Just be prepared to spend multiple hours on it

Really depends how good and experienced you are with tools. If you've only done oil changes, it might take you a couple of days. Make sure you have all the parts and tools in advance (like torque wrench).

Here is a website, probably the best explanation I have ever seen... Better double check the year of the Accord he is doing it on, but should be generally the same steps..
