normal driving conditions expected belt life is
94-97 original belt at 90K replacement belts every 105K
98-02 all models 105K although V6 cars dealers will usually recommend 120K

Make sure you get your timing belt and water pump changed, otherwise it will be useless. I'm sure the mechanic you take it to will let you know.
I got my belt and pump done for 370$ which I think was an awesome price. The dealership will charge around 700$

Just go to a tuner shop and get it done. I was quoted $250 for labor on a timing belt, water pump, balancer, gaskets, etc. The parts cost about $120 total. Not bad....considering Honda wants $970

eff that either do it yourself or take it to another mechanic..dont ever take your car to honda for something like that unless its covered under warranty cuz they will rip you a new *** hole...look in your local phone book and start calling some shops and get quotes it will be much less than that

If you have the right tools, it's not that hard to do yourself. I think the bolts are pretty tight on there though.

the crank bolt is the only super tough bolt to get off...I think hulk himself put those on every honda when they built the cars..other than that its easy

Don't you have to jam the driveplate of the transmission to stop crank bolt from rotating? AutoZone has a 3ft hard-steel breaker bar for loan, $20 deposit.
