i think you are trying to describe taking all the slack out of the throttle cable so it opens sooner with little pedal effort. also be sure when pedal is floored the tb is opened up all the way. its not a trick and it wont MAKE any power, just improved throttle response

Re: tb trick (gringo7718)
So how would I go about doing this?
So it doesnt make any power, but improves response time beetween you pushing on your pedal and accelerating, is that what I am understanding?
I am Automatic, just incase it doesnt apply, but I highly doubt that.
And to take out the slack, what do I do, and to make sure it opens all the way when i floor it, what do i do? If it isnt?

Re: tb trick (iam7head)
im not to shure what the cable looks like, but, so with the car on, in park, he pushes the gas all the way? then you just tie it or something to remove the slack?

Attempting what you are describing is only going to cause a problem in my opinion. If you want better throttle response, get a large J's style intake, a bigger TB, new IM etc.
Messing around like you describe especially with something that can be a PIA like a throttle cable is just asking for trouble.

A friend and I did this to mine a few months ago. You are able to feel a little difference (not in HP but in how much quicker the engine reacts to you pushing the petal). If your unsure you should have someone else do it so you don't take out to much slack. Someone else in another forum did this to there Accord and they said they're idle jumped to 2,500 RPM.

Good God almighty...
just feel the cable that attaches to the throttle body, if there is slack in the line take it out.

Re: tb trick (smokin rubber)
This does help. I have 92 Accord Auto. If it is not tightened enough it is possible your throttle plate never fully opens. Also on autos, the cable bracket also attaches to the auto tranny speed cable, so it shifts better. I think you just need a 10mm wrench and there are 2 nuts on the cable to adjust.

But No, Messing W/ The Throttle Body Cable Does Help W/ Response, But Be Warned Once You **** With It Once It Will Need Constant Adjusting, I Did Mine On My Old 91 Auto, And It Was Helpfull, But For Some Reason It Would Come Loose After Time, Even Though I Tightened The **** Outta It.

Really, if the throttle cable has too much slack in it, you should just replace it. There is no point in adjusting it if it will just stretch more and more now that it is old.
