Have you checked your fuel pressure regulator?

If you disconnect the vacuum hose on the top of the fuel pressure regulator and you can smell fuel in it. Then it's time for a new FPR.

Another thing you can try would be to pinch off the vacuum line to the FPR wile the engine is idling. The RPM should change when the vacuum is cut from the FPR. If it does not change you most likely need a new one.

It could be faulty and causing your car to run a little bit rich at idle/startup.

Did you also try pinching the vacuum hose? That is another test you can do.....

If the idle changes when you pinch off the vacuum hose the FPR is not working properly.
