Rocker Arm problem
Hey Guys, thanks for reading, Your expertise are always appreciated. .Anyways My favorite Honda(96 Accord) Has been sitting in My driveway broke down for about a year now since My wife drove over a pretty steep Island with it. Gashed the oil pan, snapped the lower balljoint, yanked one of the half shafts out & pretty much bent the **** out of everything. But because Ive always loved this little car, I decided to non-op it & just recently decided to fix it. Again .So Ive pretty much replaced everything downstairs, a new half shaft, new upper & lower A Arms, ball joints & tie rods just got to do a tune up & get a wheel alignment & i should be good. Well I was changing My spark plugs & noticed 3 of the 4 were full of oil so I Figured it was the plug tube o ring seals below the rocker arm assembly, which it was, so now Iam putting the rocker arm assembly back in & noticed that its not seating down all the way. Ive checked all the rocker arms & all but 4 move freely. The four that don't are Riding the hi side of the lope on the cam so Iam figuring thats why they are not moving, but would that cause the assembly not to seat all the way down when all the bolts are finger tight & cause a few of the rocker arms not to move at all.I did this about 5 years back & it seemed like I was able to move every rocker arm, some more than others because the cam but should it be normal for a few of them not to move at all?I know someone who has done this several times can help Me out here befor I try & tork them down & make a real mess for Myself. Thanks again for reading

Re: Rocker Arm problem
The rocker assembly will not sit flush as it will try to actuate the lobes on the cam as you install it. You must walk the assembly over the dowel pins to ensure you do not damage the dowel holes. As always ensure your parts are free of obstruction and the rocker assembly is not binding on anything. Make sure the tappets touch each valve stem, and use a slow and even walk down procedure to secure it. You WILL encounter some resistance as the cam will inevitably open at least 4 valves.
