Rebuild transmission or let it go?
I have a 2000 Accord V6 EX-L, in awesome condition overall. But has 228k miles and the transmission just went out. Trying to decide if I should replace the transmission, quoted $1900 or set it for a couple hundred and get a new car.....opinions?

Do you do any of your own work? This can make a huge difference in the cost of repairs. Does the car have fresh suspension, motor mounts, ball joints, etc? These sort of things definitely wear out with age and if you aren't going to change them yourself, it can be pretty expensive. How about the engine? Does it consume a lot of oil? Is the timing belt/water pump fresh? Do you live somewhere where cars rust? I'm not super familiar with 6th gen transmissions, other than knowing they generally have problems. I'd base my decision on whether you've maintained the rest of the car, especially the stuff I listed. If it's in good condition or you don't mind changing it yourself, you could go for the rebuild I think. Otherwise, I'd probably consider a new car myself. One other thing I'd consider is the availability of used engines if your's were to go in the future, and the longevity of trans rebuilds. My dad had a 3rd gen. Odyssey years ago and I saw many people with recurring transmission trouble with those.
