Oil pressure gauge hook up?
I just bought a mechanical oil pressure gauge and idk where to hook it up to. there is a bolt on the back side of the engine toward the bottom by the timing belt that I took out and it had oil on it, the fitting for the gauge screwed right in but I got no pressure. took the line off the gauge and still no oil coming out of the line with the engine running. so my question is, where is the proper place to hook up the oil pressure feed line? or am I just missing something?
the engine is an f22b1.

i think the hole you tried was the balance shaft access hole, there's no oil pressure there, just slinging from the crankshaft and whatever is draining down from the head..
try using a T fitting where the pressure switch is above the oil filter.
also take a look at this link. it's a pretty nice how-to.

You need to T off the stock oil pressure sensor location. Use either a sandwich adaptor or T-fitting.
There's been quite a few threads on this over the years. You should be able to find how to's fairly easily in a search. Forced induction forum probably has a ton of them.

sorry I didnt even think of the forced induction forum, but I figured it out. I used the oil pressure sensor hole, but I figured why even hook the oil pressure sensor back up when I have a gauge.

if you do not mind me asking, how much would it cost total for an oil pressure gague? never really looked into it before but it sounds like a good idea...
Also, where did you decide to place the gague inside, and where did you run the wiring?
thanks

Do like was mentioned above and pick up a "T" fitting. Less than $1 and you'll have done it the right way

I was under the impression that if the sensor was completely unplugged, that the light would never come on at all, as opposed to being on all the time. *shrug* Maybe I just remember wrong...
