oil capacity...
Just bought a 98 accord with an F23A4. Checked the oil and it was 2 quarts low acording to the dipstick. Did an oil change and added 4.5 quarts....still 2 quarts low. Scratched my head and bought a new dipstick....still 2 quarts low. What is going on??? Capacity is 4.5 quarts, right? If I add up to the full line I would be over 6 quarts! What is my problem??

Re: oil capacity...
it can't (shouldn't) be 2 low. capacity is 4.5 and that is what I put in. oil doesn't show on the stick. Before the oil change I did, I added 2 quarts and it registered fine.

Re: oil capacity...
NO. Like said before, the difference on the dipstick from high to low is usually only 1 quart. I say if there is oil on your stick and you just put in the correct amount, do not add more. Maybe you have a leak. when you park the car at night put a sheet of cardboard underneath to see if it is leaking. Or maybe there is a larger than stock oil pan on the car causing your dipstick reading to be low when it should be correct.
