Noob -> Using SeaFoam on '98 Accord via brake booster line.
Could someone point out, or explain where the brake booster line is on a '98 I4? I'd like to run SeaFoam through my car this weekend and am just a bit confused as to where to find the brake booster hose.. I could run it through the PCV, but have heard it may be more effective via the brake booster line..
Thanks,
Chris

There is a big fat vacuum line attached to the brake booster beside the brake master cylinder, I'd not waste my dime on that seafoam crap, there have been too many people that post here the 'day after' needing help to repair the damage that has been caused by the "magic" seafoam. If the engine needs fixed ..nothing in a can will help

Hm, it was actually recommended by my local Honda shop to reduce my engine noise. And I read up a bit over here: https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1 where people seemed to have success with their car..
I hadn't originally planned to run it through the PCV or brake booster line, just a little through the crank case and gas tank.

I hadn't originally planned to, but after reading the post I linked, it seemed that's where most people experienced the greatest benefit.
I may just end up running some through the crankcase before I change my oil, and some in the gas tank, but thought while I was at it I'd run a bit through the throttle body. I just didn't (and really still don't) know where the brake booster line is.

ATF will clean the crap out of your intake because it is loaded with detergents and other additives that eat carbon. You can even use water to clean carbon out of your cylanders and off of your valves.

it takes the engine vacuum which transfers to the brake booster. Which obviously as the name suggest; multiples brake force. I think HowStuffWorks has an animation of that.
As for seafoam, I use it once every year. Too much is not good. Just dont use it often. Like every month or week.

Re: (itsturbobitoch)
I've used seafoam a number of times...but I can't say it does much. I've run it through the intake/brakebooster maybe three times (first time it smoked so much the neighbors called the fire department). When I took my intake apart a couple weeks ago it was perfectly clean...but I've run several different products regularly so who's to say if it actually works. When sucking it up by the brake booster line suck it up VERY SLOWLY or you'll get a CEL for misfires among other things.
I will say that owning a manual I did FEEL a significant difference when I put some seafoam in the oil and then changed it about twenty miles later. The car just plain coasted better afterwards...aka engine ran smoother w/less resistance. Then again breaking apart your oil maybe isn't the best thing to do! If it breaks apart sludge then its destroying your oil too...
As far as putting it in the gas tank there are better products. I'd use 44k myself...ask for it at a dealership (I know Nissan swears by it).
Ultimately though...just clean your EGR ports, change your oil regularly (and don't use a waxy substitute like Penzoil and use a good filter like Wix or Honda OEM instead of Fram), and when in doubt pressure test/clean your injectors.
