need some help from the accord guys
Ive owned two civics and have had good experiences in general with hondas so im looking to get another one for a daily driver. what do you think of this car. http://cars.com/go/search/deta...resun
Think its a reasonable price? What problems should I look for with this model. I test drove it and i liked it, the price is a little high from what i have seen researching so i would probably offer them 5500. what do you guys think?

looks very clean for a 5th gen accord. there are generally no problems with these cars if they are well maintained. clutch, timing belt/wp, axles, brakes are basically the simple things to look out for. accords are a solid chassis, but i'm kinda biased .

If you have to replace all that stuff yourself, I would reconsider buying the car in the first place. Also, think about the cost of repairs/replacements and compare it to the market value of the car. Ideally, you want a rebuild/repair cost of less than 10% of the market value of the vehicle if you are going to buy a used vehicle. Sale price is NOT market price, just so you know.

Re: (mnaines)
well im not sure if the car has had any maintenance work done to it. Timing belt is pretty cheap if i do it myself. it does seem like a steep price. i think it may be my area though. looking through the classifieds online its close to what other used car dealerships are charging.

Ya timing belt is a piece of cake. I would make sure the front rotors aren't warped.
Rotors are a MAJOR PAIN compared to the timing belt.

Thats waaaaay to high and plus if I am not mistaken form those pictures it looked like it had some front end damage. You should be able to talk them down at least 500-1000 for that car without any damage, but with damage way more than that.
