motor rocking/shaking too much
I have been trying to figure out this problem for a while now and I am still stumped. On my Accord, everytime I start my engine or turn it off the engine really rocks and I can feel it it literally shake the car. I have had both front and back engine mounts replaced with brand new OEM Honda mounts and it still does not help any. Could it be either of the side mounts causing this? Please anyone who can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Yes the idle holds steady. It is just a problem when I am starting or turning off car. I also have to say that this happened right after I had my timing belt changed.

It seems odd that it would happen right after the timing belt was done... however, the engnie mount that is in front of the timing cover is removed when the belt is changed... So maybe something happened to it then. Check it out... good luck.

i agree with tech,, make sure the side mount is properly installed and all the bolts, nuts, are tight ...if they are tight visually look at mount make sure it is not broken ,,,

Yeah that what I was thinking too , but could the side mount cause rocking back and forth? I thought that only the front and mount controlled rocking back and forth. I have checked that side mount already and it is properly installed and there are not loose bolts or anything. Maybe the mount is just worn and it is hard to tell by looking at it?

side mounts hold the motor in the car, front and rear damper vibrations....the mount could be bad, but the bushings in side mounts dont suffer the same kind of stresses as the front/rear

i would take it back to shop and express ur concerns,, have them double chk their work ,,,i am trying to think what could possibly cause this after a t-belt replacement. .if mounts are ok,, maybe balancer shafts way misaligned ???, ,but it sure sounds like mounts...
