Default motor mounts

does anyone know if the driver side motor mount is filled with a liquid of any kind? I got into a lil wreck and the motor mounts are all blown, and a mssive amount of red fluid was centered in and around that mount and dripping to the bottom of the car. I just need to know because if it's not, i cant determine where the leak is without pulling the engine.

The rear engine mount is the only one with liquid in it (automatics only). If you say your seeing red liquid, I usually equate that with tranny fluid. How does your tranny fluid level look? If it is down, add some and check every day to see if it goes down at all. If so, you may have a tranny leak.

the leak is in driver side front of the vehicle and was centered around this mount, like ill try to post a pic of it if i can, but fluid was everywhere in this mount and there's only one fluid line that runs past it and it was a power steering line, the tranny fluid looks ok, it might be a little bit low, but i have the engine jacked up so i could get the mounts off... if this helps anything, i smelled the fluid, and it didn't smell like anything at all

Ok then, how's your power steering fluid?
Like I said above, only the rear engine mount has fluid plumbed to it (helps elminate vibration). I highly doubt the leak is from your side mount. Has to be a hose (probably the power steering line) that is leaking the fluid.

PS fluid isn't red. How about transmission fluid leaking from the hoses that go to the tranny cooler which is built into the radiator??

I had this same thing happen tonight while jacking up my engine to replace the rear mount. A bunch of dirty looking fluid seemed to be coming from the side motor mount as if it had ruptured from the bottom.

If you think it might be PS fluid have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth while you look. The pressure increases when you turn and if there is a leak it makes itself pretty evident. Honda wants only their fluid used, but you can get fluid at Advance, etc. made for Honda. Not sure of its color though. Hopefully, no one used regular ATF in the system. Stand back a little because it can squirt fairly far with a PS3 leak. Personal experience there. Got soaked.
