Low voltage at Starter solenoid... why?
I have a '94 accord ex with an automatic transmission. Today she decided not to start. No crank no click no nothing. I had my battery tested and it failed. I purchased a new one and nothing changed.
I found a great thread by fcm and used his advice to observe the following...
why am I only getting 9v at the solenoid, and why won't the starter run when
I force the solenoid to engage?
Does this sound more like bad connection or bad starter?
I found a great thread by fcm and used his advice to observe the following...
- The lights dim somewhat when I turn the key to start.
- jumping 12v to the solenoid makes it engage, but the starter itself does nothing.
- I measure 9v at the solenoid when the key is turned to START
why am I only getting 9v at the solenoid, and why won't the starter run when
I force the solenoid to engage?
Does this sound more like bad connection or bad starter?
