k20 pistons....yes or no?
keep hearing things about using the k series pistons in an f series block.....can it be done cuz i hear that it can then i hear that it cant.....any info?...if anything i would try using them into an f22 block .....obviously i would have to bore out the block but if the psitons would work what else would need to be done to make it happen.....any info would help thanks....

You can use the K20 pistons. You will need to bore it out 1mm. You will need to check the piston to valve clearances once there in there. Also measure the wrist pin off set, on the K24 pistons its off set by .010" to the exhaust side. Make sure that the wrist pin is not off set. If it is then there will be some work that will need to be done to make the work.

also, assuming you have the motor out of the car... trade the F22 block for the F23, no need to bore it over. you can re-use rods and wrist pins... it all fits together very nicely.
don't forget new k20 rings!
tune as needed for high compression.

When you go to put the piston in the cylinder, rotate it 180° from it's labeled orientation. The indicator on the face of the piston that usually points to the intake side should now be pointing to the exhaust side

K20 pistons use floating wrist pins not press fit. If you are considering using the K20 piston you will need aftermarket F22 rods or an F23 block w/rods. The F23 uses floating wrist pins.
Or you could try and find that elusive machine shop that will bore and insert brass bushings into the piston end of F22 rods. The shop I went too said that there wouldn't be enough material left around the PE of an F22 rod after boring it for bushings to keep it reliable.....
But to answer your question if you are reusing rods they should be put back into the engine in the same orientation that they came out. And if you are using after market rods and they specify a direction that is the way they should go. In saying that I would put the rods in as per normal and only the pistons should be rotated 180°....that's my 2¢.
