Installing Short Ram, need help ASAP
I am installing an AEM short ram air intake. What is this part, circled in red? It was attached to the stock air intake, but I don't see how it will attach to the new intake.
Do I just remove it and leave it off?

From what I can tell, thats' your stock airbox. Take that and the piping off up to the intake manifold, remove the resonator (box at the bottom of the engine bay that's attached to the intake, and replace with your short ram. Make sure to reattach any vacuum lines that the directions direct.

What year is that?
I think that thing has a little door in it that is opened by the vacuum tube. It opens above/below a certain RPM range and allows air in for either more power or less noise (forgot which). When you put on the short ram, you'll remove that and plug the vacuum line. The little plastic one-way filter that is already on the line can be used to block it.
Can you post a picture that shows more of your engine bay (especially passenger side w/ the air intake and throttle body)?

its a 94
heres some more pics after the install.
is this sensor thing needed? or can i remove thsi all together? what do i do with this?
what do i do with this? leave it? clamp it off?
me and my dad drove it around. kept it under 3k for a 10 min or so and then opened it up. it a a nice sound until i got around 5700rpm, when vtec kicked in. could really open it up too much seeing as were in houston and after the hurricane there are cops all over. my dad thinks is cool. i drive an auto. i mainly got this for a mpg improvement. hoping to get a a little more even if it is just 1.
what do i do with thoose hoses guys?

RE-EDIT the first pic the hose that has that plastic thing(round white plastic) on it connect that to the vaccum hose in picture two closet to the Throttle boddy the firstline under your red mark in the second picture. And that other piece i just took off it went no where. And also unplug the gray connector it is useless to have it plugged in,I zip tied it close to the fuse bx so if i did need it i knew where it was.

Re: Installing Short Ram, need help ASAP (STARRMAN85)
the vacum line above ("plug this") needs to be capped off...AEM says not to plug it back in...your kit should have come with a plug. the ("into this") needs a breather filter of some sort -aem kit should have come with a piece of foam to be jammed in there as a filter.
that bottom stuff is an intake reonator. the sensor opens a buttefly vavle in it to increase low end torque -take it all out. my sensor is still in there, just dangeling...does nothing

i would shorten it. i kept it long in fear of needing to put on the stock intake in the feature.
i dont quite understand what you mean by this<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Brycen »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Also the other piece that is close to the intake the one that you have hose clamps on,un plug that get a breather and plug in the other hose that is plugged into that.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Glad to see you got it sorted out! I ran into the same issue when I got my intake on my EX. The stupid little airbox wit the sensor is the EGR box (I think) that helps it run better when cold-started. Thats what the dealer's tech told me. It isn't even really useful. Honda just need to fill in the space I guess.

hey bud.. to shorten it you can just pull off the line here and plug it there.. then just save the hose for later...
