when they are warped... does ur brake pedal vibrate when you press it? does your car shudder as you come to a stop? those are 2 symptoms of either knowing you need them turned or new ones all together

You need new rotors when you cannot hone/grind them down anymore past a certain safe level (shops know these levels per rotor/car). As far as the shudder after you wash your car its just old pads/rotor and water has gotten into the brakes and that rusty film is on the rotors (normal).

basically like most ppl have said, when u notice the vibrations during braking. could be that its warped or just running too thin

FYI, my front rotors lasted 120K miles.

You need new ones when you take it in and they tell you that they can't get a good enough scrape on the lathe.

Then, you get new ones. Otherwise, just keep on changing the pads and doing the scrapes.

if it only makes noise & shake AFTER you wash the car and it goes back to normal after a few times braking then THAT IS NORMAL!

when you are washing your car you are spraying lots of water on the rotors, which in turn rust.

after you brake a few times the rust comes off

Depends on car, all disc/disc and drum etc.

Buy a set of Brembo blanks, AEM pads, and take it to a shop. Average depends on where you are at but I paid about $140 to have them installed.
