How can I disable the default security alarm?
For some reason my car started going crazy last night when I went to fill up at a gas station. The default alarm that comes with the car started going off. The horn and lights were blazing and I could not stop it and had to drive home that way. It finally stopped when I got home. Is there a way to disable it until I can get it to the shop? TIA.
BTW, it's a 1999 Honda Accord.

You know, of all the times I've seen that fuse, I never thought of doing that. I'm going to have to try that right now. I have an aftermarket alarm, and my friends and the occasional valet like to lock the doors manually, thus arming the factory alarm.
BTW, next time the alarm is going off, all you have to do to stop the siren is to put the key in the driver's side lock and turn the key (lock or unlock, I can't remember). Make sure all the doors are closed first.
**EDIT**
Nevermind, I must have been smoking something, there's no fuse labeled for just the factory alarm on my '99.

Re: How can I disable the default security alarm? (sL1cK)
I havent found out how to do that yet but the alarm on my 02 accord goes off at random. Usually hitting lock and unlock on the remote works (replacing the remote battery seems to have made it more effective) It had a quiet mode with no beeps but that went away after I disconnected the battery to look at my stereo and I havent been able to get that back either. the booklet on the alarm is completely useless. Hopefully someone will know the secret and share it with us
