Default Honda Accord Alarm recomendations..

My 97 honda accord was recently broken into and vandalized. The dam thieves stole my cd player and tore up my radio center console, and everything out of my trunk!? subwoofers, all my tools even a box that i kept spare fluids in!!! all of this happen rite in front of my house while i was asleep after a long day of work.... i was pissed and was about to give up on my car but i dont want to let the thieves win, so i am back. i have an alarm on my honda but it was turned off due to my key chain breaking, and i think my horn wires were cut when my car was robbed. i am taking my car to a shop to have this worthless alarm pulled out and a new one installed but i have no idea what alarm to get or what features to loook for. i want to pay 150-250 for a good alarm as i plan on replacing my sound system over time and do not want to get my stuff stolen again... im thinking a viper alarm system or should i just get a decent alaram package that a stereo shop has? im trying to save some money and am wondering if a new ebay viper alram package is a good way to go? from there i would have a shop do the actual install. any good recomendations? oh and when my car was broken into the thieves pried my drivers window down (window slipped off track slightly when rolling up) w/ out breaking it and poped my locks and just hit my trunk relese switch form the inside and took thier dam time... still pisssed off about it...

Hey man i kinda fell your pain. Someone popped my trunk in my drive way and stole my subs amp and tools. The front door was unlocked to but they didn't take anything else. I was looking into the viper alarm system myself. Best buy has some good ones and they include installation. It'll be easier and less expensive if you leave the current alarm in there. If can't afford or find the one you like, buy a viper alarm online and bring it into Walmart or best buy and they install it for you. Of course they gonna charge for installation but just as long its a viper alarm.

Yea Walmart does. But has to be viper alarm. Well they gonna utilize some of the old alarm stuff already in there, making the cost for installation a little cheaper.

I have the Viper Model 5000 alarm, and I love it. I paid around $450.00 for it back in '06 after my car got broken into at the mall. Now I'm sure they have newer and better Viper model alarms.

So the alarm was off when this happened? Why blame it? If I'm reading your post correctly (it is late) then the alarm is not to blame.

So IMO-a simple alarm will work......

Again, spend your $ how you wish, sometimes simple works....IF you use it....and lock the doors.

Im looking into these viper systems, they have a 1-way and a 2-way, the difference is that the 1-way system just pretty much the alarm system, with the 2-way its the alarm system and it tells you when your alarm goes off.
I would suggest this one; http://www.viper.com/P-3305V/Viper-R...ecurity-System
