Default gas pedal sticking

Hey I was wondering if there is something i can do to my gas pedal. It sticks when I go to drive when its usually cold. It doesnt stick as in staying down and not coming up, but rather it doesnt want to go down and im afraid i will hit something having to press the pedal to hard and the pedal goin down while trying to get out of parking spots. Is there anything to lubricate? any suggestions? Diagrams?

There are three things which might cause this:
1) Accellerator Pedal Hanger assembly
2) Throttle Cable
3) Throttle Body

To figure out which it is; the process is more an either/or proposition and requires no more the disconnecting the throttle cable from the valve body.
If the bind still exists in the pedal, it's most likely the cable.
If the bind is no longer apparent, the Throttle Body is the culprit.

Sometimes extreme deposits in the throttle bore will cause a binding condition. If not that then the possibility exists the Throttle Body shaft may have worn and the throttle valve sticks now.

Would the car being warmed up cause it not to stick, because if it is warmed up it usually doesnt even stick, just at start up not all the time. No problem under normal driving conditions.

It very well could; what with the normal expansion and contraction of metals as they heat/cool.
The assembly lube in the cable may be turning to wax (unlikely since you specifically state the throttle returns to idle without problems) or, as I stated elsewhere, the T/B could be horribly crudded up.
This sounds like a project for a cold Saturday (or Sunday) morning.

Your Accord has S.T.D. Sticky Throttle Disease There is a cure however
Get your room mates toothbrush and a can of Berrymans B-12 carb cleaner.
Hold open the throttle plate and scrub out the crud around the throttle plate

Yes, I have to agree with Hondadude, both a roommates, or a mother-in-laws toothbruxh is best for parts cleaning and fine detail work.
Just don't use them with products like Eagle Mag wheel cleaner or Wheel Brite. It will act to bleach their teeth white when you return it to the brush holder.

Hey, isn't that one of former President Clintons Tooth Brushes? The one he used to clean up after the cigar incident?
