Re: frankenstein swapped 90 accord
the whole confusing part of this to begin with is he rebought his car back with a diff motor and whole ever put his car together just threw some stuff on and leaving him to guess what is on it to make it work right.
the part u will never have to swap or change is the manual tensioner, i never used a f22a oil pump so im guessing h23 water pump may not fit the f22a oil pump so there put the f22a water pump on it since the belt does not wrap around the water pump, just less then half of it on the right side.
the metal looking liquid seems like sludge with tiny metal parts like on automatic tranny magnetic drain plug.

The silver stuff his is talking about is probably just never seize. You can clean it off with some throttle body cleaner or use simple green and warm water.
Honestly, for someone who has done a few hybrid builds. It seems more like you paid someone to build them for you. A lot of your information is confusing or wrong all together.

The water pump mounts to the block on both the F & H series engines, not the oil pump housing....

OK, so I counted the can and crank gears, they are h22 gears. Now just need to ddouble check the belt i have. It might be right, I just think my friend is tired of looking @ it.
I was going to trade him for the 97 rodeo but, I just gotta cash offer on it and offered him b/t $1500-$1800..... he said yeah!!!!!
Thanks,
Bz
EDIT: I think the reason the belt shredded the way it did is it may not have been tensioned correct. Also, if you look at the pic with the timing gears, I didn't realize till today while I was at the car, the front heat has a small lip/sharp edge. Is it supposed to be smooth?

the front GEAR....... oops..... arent both gears supposed to be smooth and not have a raised edge? looking at it, its not raised like a idler bulley but like something wore it down or rubbed it. i just noticed it. you can kinda see it in the pics of the gears.....
thanks,
Bz
p.s. i hate auto text on my phone!

Need a better picture. The flash glare and it being out of focus really makes it hard to confirm or deny anything. I can't tell if that is a lip or highlights & shadows. I do see what you are talking about though.

Re: frankenstein swapped 90 accord
Ok so, to dredge up some old ish that i started in the first place.........
I finally am getting to working on this nasty ****. I ordered a set of h22 cam gears(stockers) and, much to my dismay they are severely different. The (new) gears are about 1/4-3/8 inch smaller. They also dont seem to fit together the same.( think gears touching and turning).
I dont have pics because the camera app on my phone is on the fritz. ...... Eff-me!.
Anyone have a set if h23 gears to send me measurements like diameter?
