Default Faulty Shift Control System

I have another problem with the transmission in my 2002 V6. I replaced the transmission in the summer and the other day I was coming home from work and had some problems. It was wet and I lost traction, rpms shot up high and then the tires caught and shocked the trans. CEL came on along with the D4 light constantly flashing. It felt like it was in neutral so I pulled over and restarted the engine. It wouldn't shift out of first gear, limp mode maybe?
Got it home and parked it over night.

The next day I started the car and let it warm up to check the fluids which were all at good levels. The car would drive alright but as soon as I drive 1 mile it would go into that limp mode type deal again. Unhooked the battery, tried again and it bogged out after 1 mile.

Called the supplier that I got the transmission from (had to wait the weekend) since it's still under warranty and told them what had happened. They asked if there were any CEL codes and I said yeah but I didn't have a chance to get them read.
So I drove up to autozone and had the CEL read and it pulled the following codes:
P0399 I think, not sure. It was a random misfire which was a previous issue so that's not related.
P0730 which was a faulty shift control system. Possible causes were low trans fluid, bad electrical connection, or shift control system failure.

Called the supplier back and they said it's just this little solenoid or module thing and it's right under the shift lever so it's nothing internally damaged. They only deal with stuff directly bolted on the trans so he couldn't send me one or else he would for free.
He told me to call my local Honda dealer and they should know what part I need and it's a real easy fix.

Called Honda which I've had problems with before, very very bad service. The guy I was talking to had no idea what I needed so he was no help. I talked to that guy before to order some red type r badges and he asked if I was at the right place.

Anyways, I need this shift control system part that is right under the shift selector in the center console. Does anybody know what the part name or part number is? I really need my car for work and finals at school.
Thanks in advance.

Solenoid uner console is shift lock solenoid. Per FSM code P0730 could be:T/C clutch solenoid valve, solenoid valves B or C, clutch pressure control valves A&B. Get the car towed back to transmission facilitly and have them fix it.

Got the trans from California and I'm in Michigan so towing it to them won't work.
He said it's the thing under the console so I'm guess it would be the shift lock solenoid but I can move the gear selector into all gears manually, I don't have to put the key in there.

Hopefully that will fix it. Part number 39550-S82-A81 . About $22. I don't see how that would affect your problem though.

So it's most likely the shift lock solenoid? I pulled up the plastic trim pieces around the shifter and took a quick look at it and the stuff I'm seeing on google images when I search that part number looks like it.
The guy at the trans place said it's a little plug type thing under there.

Gonna check all the connections first to see if it came undone or something.
When I called Honda yesterday they said the shift lock solenoid was only like $35. Sounds like a cheap quick fix, hopefully it cures my problems.

When I checked the trans fluid, it looked slightly dirty. I have a two quarts of Honda ATF in the garage and my car takes three. If I pick up another quart when I get the solenoid and do a quick drain and fill, will that help? When I was looking online I read that dirty fluid can cause the problem as well.

It is NOT the shift lock solenoid issue,it is a shift control solenoid issue. A very dangerous situation as the trans will down shift at the wrong time, causing wheel lock up. The problem is usually a transmission fault, but occasionally it is one of the shift solenoids. It will need to be diagnosed....

Anybody else? I really need the car and feel like a burden depending on other people for rides.
