If you're scared to pay 3K for the motor, wait till you start breaking stuff on a motor that isn't available in the US

u can get parts for it here i just dont want to spend a **** load..i want it cheap and build it not 3k cause that would be just then engine..and the h22 wont fit the bottem of the motor will touch the ground and the f22 has more hp but less torque but i can make the torque higher and its like the same

H22 not fit?!?!? I tell you what, sit around this site and READ for a few months. THEN.... come back and ask your question.

F20b and H22a are basically the same motor. If the F20b will fit in your '94, then the h22a will also (trust me - I had a '94 Accord w/ a '94 JDM H22 swap done).
For parts availability ( and to keep costsw down), go with the H22 engine and call it a day.

You can find complete F20B swaps for about 2k nowadays in decent conditin...

Hell you can even find complete F20B longblocks for 1k if you know where to look...

The tip is to CALL around and ask... if they don't have it or it's too pricey ask if they know any other place that hasd them in stock and you might find a deal...

No, it won't.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Team Highway &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">yea if u get an h22 u have to raise ur car and get a new suspension..i now deicided either to get a type R motor or an f20b and both would kick *** but not to sure</TD></TR></TABLE>

You need to stop listening to whoever it is that is giving you this information.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Team Highway &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">my mechanic who is really good with honda cars said that i should get a type r motor witch is in acura motor and acura engines are made by honda but instead of an f20 i was thinking of gettin a type r motor but im not sure witch one to get and which one would be better for an auto 94' honda accord 4dr i would be changind the tranny and wat be better to build</TD></TR></TABLE>

Your mechanic may be good a fixing cars, but he apparently doesn't know much about swapping motors. A B18 will NOT have enough torque to move the car well, not to mention you'd have to get custom mounts and whatnot. An H22 is probably the best (and cheapest) choice.

Look... Get an H22 + tranny and call it a day. You will <U>NOT</U> have to change your suspension or raise your car.

If you can get an F20b for a good price I would say go with that. It has more HP, comes std with LSD and has higher compression (like type r's). You can usually get a pretty good price on them now adays because companies who stock them have a hard time moving them.

One draw back tho is that they are all OBDII ..

I think Team Highway should read up a little more bout these motors and then decide what he wants instead of relying on other peoples opinions and potential getting taken advantage of by others. Its not good to jump into something like motor swap. only in my opinion

Scroll down in the Guide to basic accords thread that's stickied at the top of the forum. It has a parts list and brief how-to for the swap.

I agree with you... but at the same time, at least he's not trying to boost his stock motor w/o any knowledge of FI whatsoever. Those are the people (and their motors) I would worry about the most.

Team Highway,

I wasn't trying to look down on you, or anything like that, so I apologize if my comments came off that way.

But like I said before, whoever is giving you all that information is flat-out wrong. Let me repeat/rephrase what I said earlier. If you swap an H22 into your Accord, you will not have any greater risk of bottoming out the motor than with the F22. An H22 does NOT sit any lower than an F22. You will NOT need a new suspension.

an H22 is the SAME SIZE and just about the same weight as an F series motor. There is no clearance or suspension problem swapping it into an accord chassis.

F20B while nice for the bling factor, may be a bitch if it breaks. I say USDM H22 all the way for ease of swap & parts availability.

whoever told you to install the type RRrrrrr into a 5th gen accord doesn't know WTF they're talking about.
