Dimmer switch bad? No cluster/AC/Shifter lights at all
We recently (2 weeks ago) bought my sister a black 1995 Honda Accord EX which runs beautifully except for one issue. We noticed at night that we have no cluster lights, AC control lights, and shifter lights. I checked all of the fuses on the driver side and passenger side and they all seemed fine.
All turn signals, headlights, brights, hazzards, etc work perfectly. We also have a black 1996 Accord LX and the lights work perfectly on that car, and we know how to turn on the instrument lights. I've searched a bit and many people say it could be the dimmer switch (that adjusts the brightness of the lights themselves)
Could it possibly be that the control **** (dimmer switch) went bad? No auto parts carries this control dimmer but the dealer does have them in stock for $45. I'm going to attempt to remove the dimmer switch from the 96 Accord and try it on the 95 Accord and see if it works, but that won't be until later today when my sister gets home. Any insights on this?
I would also like to add that when ever we turn on our headlights, or just 1 click (parking/instrument lights) our shift indicator boxes shut off. The little square red and green boxes that go around the shift letters (P, R, N, D4, D3, 2, 1)
Thanks all for your help in advance.

i had a similar prob on my 6th gen here, but my dimmer goes to a multiplex control unit . try this.
ground your dimmer switch wire(usually black), with another wire attach to a different ground location. good luck.

I just tried the dimmer switch (**** thingy) from the 96 accord and it worked perfectly. It turned out to be that dimmer switch. Thanks

Can a bad dimmer switch kill all those same lights in a 99 Acura TL? I've tested my switch with a test light, and I know the switch is bad. But when I bypass the switch with a paperclip, it blows the 15 amp Small Lights fuse under the hood.
