Cruise control issue advanced diagnostic help please...
I have a 99 honda accord ex 5 spd and the cruise control doesn't engage. the Main Cruise Control (on my dash next to the sunroof control) light comes on and functions correctly. When I press the set button the cruise control the light on the dash doesn't come on and the cruise control doesn't engage. Here's what I have done so far.
1) Verify the brake switch wires work
2) the set button on the steering wheel is functioning and sending a signal
3) I ran a jumper wire to the Vacuum solenoid wire on the cruise control actuator and heard it click on with car engine off. couldnt hear it click when engine on.
4) tightened the tension on the cable.
Here is my question
1)the Haynes manual shows a Cruise Control Unit where all the fuse wires and input wires go into, where is this cruise control unit?
2) The manual shows wires connecting to a cable reel? Where is this located please?

To answer your #2 question: the cable reel is part of the steering wheel setup and sits behind the wheel itself and rotates with it. Since you verified your buttons on the wheel are functional, that eliminates that as an issue.

Remove driver's dashboard lower cover. Control unit is right of steering wheel and has 14 pin connector.
