Default brake Lamp lights On

hi all i'm a new member here. i bought my 99 accord a while ago. Today, the brake light indicator and the brake light lamp indicator came on. i've already checked the brakes by pressing on it. the light works fine. i've even driven the car and not hear any "screaching" sound, so i know it's not the brake pads. What am i dealing with here? please HELP. thanks.

not sure, but it could be bad abs sensors or something.

Is it the low brake fluid indicator? Check fluid level. If it's the one telling you the brake lights aren't working, but they really are. Check wires on brake light switch (under brake pedal arm). Is it hard to get out of park? That would also mean brake light switch. Not sure of any of this, just some ideas. Light doesn't come on for brake pad wear (low fluid)

You have two brake lights in there. One is for the actual brake lights and the other is for the master cylinder fluid level
Just a red light that says "brake" is the fluid level. Check your fluid and if it's not see through (light brown) then have it flushed. If the light still stays on you can either replace the cap or unplug it. Either will fix the light.

Not to step on your foot MOO but .....

you forgot to mention that the 1 for the master cylinder is the same 1 if the e-brake is on...,,and 1 more thing dirty fluid will not make lite come on ,,,,,,,, But as Moo says , chk fluid level in master cylinder if low chk for leaks and chk brakes for wear ,, if more than 1/2 full, remove cap and pull up on the little plunger if lite goes off replace plunger,, you can get it separately it is a lot cheaper than the complete cap...

well fellas, i've checked the fluids and it seems like everything is in tact. i've driven the car the whole day and not noticed any problems. it seems to be running fine, but i am annoyed at these two lights. What other reasons do you think it could be?
