Brake booster help needed for a 92 Accord EX
I'm trying to replace the brake booster in my 92 Accord. Everything is disconnected in accordance with my Haynes manual. The problem is that I don't have enough clearance to get the shaft out of the firewall and pull the old one out. I have removed the brackets that were in the way. Also, there is an electrical connection that I unplugged, but that didn't give me the clearance that I needed either. Do I really have to disassemble part of my engine to get this thing out? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I haven't done it before, but I copied this from alldata in case there is something else that could help you. Good luck.
1.Drain the brake fluid from the master cylinder.
2.Disconnect the brake fluid level switch connectors.
3.Disconnect the brake pipes from the master cylinder.
4.Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts and the master cylinder.
5.Disconnect the vacuum hose from the booster and remove the check valve bracket.
6.Loosen the pushrod locknut.
7.Remove the cotter pin and joint pin.
8.Remove the booster mounting nuts.
9.Remove the clevis from the pushrod, then remove the booster from the body.
10.Install the booster on the body and install the clevis onto the pushrod.

Thanks, but all that is done. The only step in that procedure that is giving me trouble is the part that says remove from body. The intake system is in the way.

I,m a little crazy but I would unbolt the engine mounts and jack up the engine a little. Or lower it a little. Call me crazy
