96 Accord .... AKA "the Nemesis"
Hey every one,
I have a 96 Accord with a f22b2 in a LX. Just have had the worst experience with a local junk yard sending me 2 bad motors, and the third one is making me f!@#%$# nuts. Here is the deal..... the motor started out with a code for the TDC sensor and in limp mode. Replaced the sensor , traced the wires to the ecu, installed a known good ECU , ended up being the lower timing belt pulley had some how become magnetized and the sensor wouldn't pick it up. changed the usual suspects, full tune withe fuel filter, timing belt set with pump, started the engine again to find a massive surge at idle ( 1000-2300) and codes 304, 302, 301, 1300... ended up replacing the injectors , tested every thing, stuck a different distributor in it, triple checked the timing. ended up replacing the intake and gaskets. It now idles great no codes, but when it comes off the cold idle it doesn't have any power and you can hear it strain on the intake side, has a hard time even running. Checked the fuel pressure to find 32 lbs with reg hooked up and 42lbs without. Looking at the plugs, It looks rich, and stinks at idle. The only glitch I can find is when at idle it stumbles when the regulator opens to 42 and smoothes when it comes back to 32lbs. When I crack the throttle it goes to 42lbs and runs like crap, hold it for as second and it smooths out when the pressure drops to 32lbs... WTF I'm goin' nuts here ... PLEASE HELP!!!

Up date.. Just replaced the fuel regulator no good. Has anyone had an issue with the TPS? If so, what were the symptoms?

Re: 96 Accord .... AKA "the Nemesis"
compression is awsome. Just checked the fuel trim base line... I'm running at -27.3 at idle and -19.6 at 2500rpms. Does anyone know if this short term baseline is off????
