If someone can help me with this - it will be really helpful!! ( i couldn't find anything on search )

Today as i was driving - I noticed the temp gauge drawing close to very high ( almost near the red )

So as i drove a little further, it slowly comes back down to the middle..than 2 mins. later starts rising again to very high....and back to the middle again after about 5 mins.

When i start the car...after about driving for two mins - it jumps to the middle of the gauge ...even if the car has been completely cooled down.


If i just start the car...and not even drive it - the gauge goes to the middle...or higher

So what is wrong? Is the gauge messed up?

Both fans are working properly - or so it seems. - Both fans work when the car is on..and blows out cool air - One fan works when the car is stopped.

Everytime i stop the car the fan that cools the car down - turns on...even if i just turn the car on, and not even drive.. ( maybe cause the sudden rise of the temp gauge?)

Yesterday i did replace the headlight lamp...Not sure if that has anythhing to do with it...probably doesn't, but wanted to throw that in there.


Is it safe for me to drive???

Completely cooled down (like overnight) but it goes IMMEDIATELY to mid-scale? The engine can't really heat up like that, so it's a bad reading.

Check the circuit for that gauge. Then measure resistance of the gauge sender.

If its not putting out any sort of smoke from the exhaust maybe could be just the thermostat?

if that guage sender checks out ok which im my opinion it probably is then i would look into your thermostat easy fix. word to the wise do not try that radiator fix it crap if the thermostat doesnt fix the problem. radiator fix it stuff clogs up the cells in the radiator.

check your coolant levels, the fan on the right side won't come on if there isn't enough coolant because it doesn't get a proper reading

Most likely you got a bad GAUGE .........
if you start car up. from sitting and engine is cold , the t-stat has NOTHING to do with it,, could be a sending unit , wiring or gauge

YES! The engine can't possibly heat up immediately, even with a bad thermostat.

any smoke? If so possibly blown coolant hose.
