94 EX - what does your temp gauge read?
Hey guys,
I'm normally roaming in the prelude section here, but I came across great looking 94 accord EX that I couldn't pass up.
Just wondering what everyones temp guage normally reads once its warmed up (bone stock)?
It normally sits just above 1/4 of the way up and that seems a little low to me.
I checked the coolant once I noticed and its almost a blue color, so I'm gonna do a flush in the next couple days, just wondering if theres a temp sensor or the t-stat that might be causeing the low temp so I can change that at the same time if need be.
Thanks in advance guys!
Also, this is my first accord, is there anything I should know about besides the hard shifts on the auto trans?

1/4 ways sounds about right, although blue coolant doesnt. just flush it out and change thermostat while you're at it to be on the safe side.

Blue is the color of the new coolant Honda uses.
My temp gauge on the identical car, with a factory thermostat, reads about 3 or 4 milimeters below halfway.
The vechicle you are looking at may have a slightly cooler aftermarket thermostat installed.

thanks for all your help guys. looks like I won't need to do the flush then if its got newer coolant.
*edit*
i'm curious now,
how is the new blue coolant different?
is this the thing i heard about how animal activists got a law passed that coolant has to have a bitter smell or taste so animals wont drink it?

Already pre-mixed, and lasts longer. However unless you do a complete flush (not something the average person can do easily) you should just keep what you have. It's on my list of things to do in my S2000. Someone put in the green coolant early and should have kept the blue.
