I just finished mine a few weeks ago.
Yes, you need to drill a hole, put a bolt through it and use a sleeve spacer to prevent the assembly from bending. You may need to get a new clutch pedal assembly if it is all bent up or you could bend it back. You'll also want to make sure you waterproof it on the outside so water wont get in to the interior.
Did you put a spacer on the clutch master cylinder threaded studs on the inside of the car as well? I just used two large nuts on each stud that totaled 14mm in length.

Yeah totally don't forget to use washers to help prevent the cmc from hitting the shock tower, I went and put them on both sides of my firewall just because the holes were drilled by me and not stamped out, no sense in completly hillbilly riggin it. If your holes you drilled to get the cmc into to pedal assembly is sloppy your pedal will be sloppy considering the cmc supports this, maybe you'll put the top bracket on (drilling more holes) for better support, but these will help for a stiffer feel, I still want to get the clutch braket on some day but washers on both sides the fw seem to be working well and their large ones to.
