Default '92 Honda Accord, Something Up with my Transmission.

I have a '92 Honda Accord with an automatic transmission. Lately whenever I come to a complete stop and start to go again, no matter how much I put on the gas the car will barely roll at first and take an unusually long time to get up to speed. This is when the gear shift is in the "D4" position. If I use it like a manual transmission, however, putting it into first gear whenever I stop, it works perfectly.

It seems to me like an electrical problem, but I am such a newb to this!

If it's been a while since the transmission fluid has been changed, I would change the fluid just remember to use honda dealership fluid. if the fluid change helps the problem I have been told to change it 2 more times about a 1000 miles apart to make sure you have gotten all of the old fluid out. Best wish's.

The fluid was changed very recently when an axle broke and it leaked out. I checked the level of the transmission fluid today and it was fine.

have you checked the shift control cable. if it is off at all when in d4 it could really be halfway between d4 and neutral. if you have a manual look up checking the shift control cable alignment.

it involves taking off the front console and removing a pin and seeing if two holes line up. these holes are located right in front of the shifter underneath the center console piece. if they don't you turn the adjustment bolt until the holes are aligned.
