Within the past month, my radiator reservoir has depleted or come close to depleting 2-3 times. Yesterday, after I got home from work (25 minute highway drive) I noticed that there was water/coolant dripping pretty rapidly from the bottom of the car. The radiator has stayed full, just the reservoir keeps going empty. It was hard to tell exactly where it was dripping at, as it was dripping down onto the hanging plastic under-covering of my car, then dripping off that onto the ground. But from what I could see, it appears to be dripping somewhere near the front end of driver side of motor. Down in there near where the black radiator tubes connect to motor maybe? Kind of left of the battery.

Once the car cooled down last night, I noticed it wasn't leaking very much at all.

Also if the radiator gets low, doesn't it pull the reservoir coolant into the radiator?

Any ideas? Thanks!

When there's a slow leak it will pull from the reservoir after the car has cooled down.

You need to rent a cooling system pressure tester and load it up and see where the leak is.

Are you sure your radiator isn't leaking? They are common failures. Check where the plastic is crimped to the aluminum on the top and bottom.

Alright thanks I will check into this! Another question... how well does radiator leak sealant work? I put a bottle of it in the other night when I noticed it was leaking badly (as suggested by a friend), and yesterday after work I noticed it wasn't leaking at all.

The other day when it was leaking, it looks like it was dripping from down under in this area... but it's hard to tell for sure.


EDIT: Radiator sealant didn't seem to work. I noticed a big puddle under my car again last night.
