1995 honda accord THROTTLE VALVE ADJUSTMENT??????????
I JUST INSTALLED A THROTTLE VALVE CABLE IN MY ACCORD BUT I DONT REALLY KNOW HOW TO ADJUST IT CAN ANYBODY GIVE ME SOME STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS? ALSO, AS SOON AS I INSTALLED IT I NOTICED THE GAS PEDAL FELT ALOT HARDER THAN USUAL IS THIS NORMAL OR DO I NEED TO ADJUST SOMETHING?

heres a step by step with pics on how to adjust the throttle valve cable...
1. fully open the throttle valve, then install the throttle cable in the throttle linkage and install the cable housing in the cable bracket.
2. start the engine. hold the engine at 3,000 rpm with no load (automatic trans in N or P position, manual transmission in neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let idle.
3. hold the cable sheath, removing all slack from the cable.
4. turn the adjusting nut until it is 3mm away from the cable bracket.
5. tighten the locknut, the cable deflection should now be at 10-12 mm if not readjust.
