Surprisingly not too bad. Just like riding a bike. It has been 8 months since NSXpo and obviously not in my car. I wanted to hop in because they put a new motor in and Autobahn is a bit faster on the straights. So, I wanted to make sure that I could "heel toe" it. It is BY FAR the hardest car that I've ever had to downshift. Hitting the marks, etc was just like riding a bike and I had a pretty decent slide. Overall, I was happy with the session.

wish I would have know, would have said hi
I was there with my hatch and my uncle with the white crx with a 3 on the door and the black sonic with green wheels
my cousin ran a 1:59 and a bunch of 2:01's ...didn't have a timer in the crx but it felt sub 2 sec....I only used the harrys for one session with a bunch of 2:01's but honestly is was my slower session...im confident I was under 2 sec but no recording means it never happened I slowed on every lap to let faster people pass, im sure I lost a couple seconds at least every time im usually at 120 and holding that on the back strait for a couple/few seconds, when I let people pass I was only getting to 100 before I had to brake...
overall had tons of fun...and for us all to be running right at the 2 min mark on our second track event I don't think is too bad (and I have only been able to do about 2hr worth of track time between both events do to car issues)
i'm excited for the next event, i'm confident I can get at least a 1:55 my next event maybe better, I know it's nothing compared to your times but im sure having a **** ton of fun :D

It is good that you want to improve and I know that seeing lap times is the "easiest way" to seeing if you are faster. But, don't get caught up in it, it isn't that big of a deal, really, at this point in your "career". Work on hitting your marks, being consistent, and getting more feel of the car.
I am glad to see you talk about lifting to let people by. Being observant is a HUGE plus out there, especially for your well being.
120 on the back straight. LOL. My top speed in the CRX, GPS logged, was 81mph!! The hatch, I am right around 100.

I hit 130 once and I was like nope...to flippin fast....that great smell of brakes pulling onto the front strait....
im super observant of whats going on around me at all times...I don't "zone out" like some people...that's where beginner group sucked, to many people not paying attention and I was pull off for space once or twice every session.
wmhm I bumped to intermediate...seems group 2 was a bit faster than group 1. my uncle ran in group 2 for one session and made the comment of everyone being considerably faster. but I was giving point bys once or twice per lap.
im getting waaaay more comfortable with my car. adding the rear swaybar helped the car feel way more stable while getting "loose" its a weird feeling sliding like that, but the rotation does really help to pull you out of the corner faster. I spent more time working on my line than anything. next event im working harder on braking later and carrying more speed through the corner....I found myself brakign too much and mid corner realizing I could have pushed that way faster and actually would have been better getting a little loose getting to the outside. turn 7 specifically....I brake way too much going into 7....it took me a while but I got the corner figured out between 8&9 I get the car strait for a second witch helps with not transferring the weight so quickly or abruptly which caused me to spin a couple times at gridlife...felt way smoother and I found myself picking up a ton more speed through there
seat time....I need more seat time

Re: Offical eH squad list.
Turn 7 is fun, you can "take it way deep" in that corner.
Turn 8 is probably the trickiest corner on the track. It invites you to turn in early which doesn't work out into T9.

Re: Offical eH squad list.
Sound's like a good weekend. I have been itching to get the first one out of the way bad. All these solo event's are still fun, but I want to step up my game.

Re: Offical eH squad list.
hitting that properly makes a huge difference....hitting 7 right lines you up for 8 and 9 as well as 10....but 10 is a whole other beast... turn in so late you think your going offroading

Re: Offical eH squad list.
When done "right", define right, yeah, it is tough. But, you should always go outside to inside(apex) back to the outside when going around a corner.
So, yes, T7 done right, you should already be track out leading into T8. You said make it as straight as possible, well that can be anywhere depending on where you turn in. I get what you are saying. Normally, people turn into T8 too early which causes a shallow entrance to T9. Like you said, too much weight transfer on a tight radius causes the spin. So, you need to "stay late" into eight to not eat you speed into T9.
This is back when I put up the raw footage, so fast forward a couple minutes.

Re: Offical eH squad list.
I've been pretty steady at work, so I've just watched a couple minutes of it.
You're consistent, which could be good, but here, it is not so much. First off, get the camera in the car where you can see you hands, that will help you a ton while reviewing the footage.
You are not looking "up" or ahead, that's why you are pinching off a lot of the corners. With that said, use ALL of the track! If you need to, slow down and hit the marks. Once you start hitting the marks consistently, then pick the pace back up.
Keep at it!!

Re: Offical eH squad list.
thanks!
yeah I wanted to do the cgi track day aug 4 but that's not going to work out...there is another weekend event on aug 30/31 (hooked on driving) im going to try to go to, hoping I can swing it
I'm looking ahead, im just being a sissy girl...lol.. my car has had so many problems for so long I forgot what it was like to beat the crap out of it. I have also been stopping for 6 years on crappy cx brakes, og fluid, cheap pads and old crappy hocky puck street tires...the integra front/rear brake swap, dot4, hp+ and nt01's have so much more stopping power than I am used to....still new to all the brakes I have now....my old setup had a hard time slowing down a 115mph 1/4 run with 1000' of brakeing area....I have to get way more confident with the setup I have now, and its coming to me, but I have to beat 6+ years of crappy brake experience out of my head....like everyone says, seat time.
I forgot the sd card for my gopro at home, wasn't till one of the last sessions I thought to steal my phones sd card...harry lap timer recorded and incab video but its way crappier quality and its on my windshield so still don't see me. I will toss it on the roll bar mount at the next event.

Re: Offical eH squad list.
If you do the CGI event, slow down and start hitting your marks. Then work speed up from there.
Here is my second event, first in the hatch and first at Putnam. They put me in the Intermediate group for some reason too, but it ended up working out well. Toyo R1Rs, HP+ pads, no VTEC either.

Re: Offical eH squad list.
by track out do you mean using the whole track? like coming out of the corner and hitting the outside pad? for some reason 11 isn't scary for me at all....my two favorite corners are 11 and 1 and i feel i do a pretty good job on them...coming out of 1 i do find myself not going wide as far as i should but i hit them with some good speed and its fun
also please disregard anything after like 4:20 in the video, that was my cool down lap, coolant was getting very warm and i was trying to stay out of the way of other cars as opposed to driving a line.
problem i keep having is braking way to early, then realizing i did so, letting off the brake and then coasting more or less till i get to the corner and if I'm lucky still carrying the speed i should be or i should say i am confident carrying through the corner. for example i find myself engine braking 20 yards before the first post in turn 11, then braking at the first post and by the third realizing i have slowed down enough, then coasting past the last post and cone before i turn in....when in reality i could have held the throttle until the first post or later, started braking on the second or third post and accomplished the same entry speed and line. the whole either throttle or brake...im coasting waaaay to much
i will do my best to look ahead, granted i need tons of work there i will admit. i will say in my mind i am focusing on hitting my mark more than trying to be fast, but i still wanna be fast. but i am focused more on the corner at hand and not the next three, guessing that's the looking up thing. jake showed me all the corners and how to hit them. almost like 11 little instruction books for each corner....and at every corner i am trying to go through my mental list of instructions....i don't know how else to explain it. but you are right, im not going wide nearly enough on most turns in hind sight, i also feel in those same corners i could be going much faster. however, even if speed doesn't take me out there i should still aim the car out there to practice that line...im starting to link the corners in my mind, obviously some better than others...i will continue to work on that. all that will come with more seat time and practice...and with seat time and practice will come faster lap times

Re: Offical eH squad list.
Yes, tracking out is using the rest of the available track on exit.
The braking thing is fine. I have never told a student when to brake unless they are about to put us in harm, which is almost never. Getting good on the brakes takes time, why, because of the confidence that it takes, ie. the risks involved. Also, what "line" works for someone might not completely be what works for you. Case in point, T5, it seems like all of the "old school" guys turn in later there. Why, I am guessing because that is how they were taught. They were probably taught that because it makes the entrance or turn in to T6 easier. I turn in early to T5, roll speed through, then brush the brakes for rotation going into T6.
You should always be going through mental notes as you are on track. Mental notes help you the next time around and the next time, etc. So, that is not a bad thing at all. With experience, you will absorb more and process it faster.
