Default Transmission shift solenoid

So my friend got a 2000 Honda accord ulev f23 automatic and 1st to 2nd shift hard sometimes and so I think the solenoid is bad and that's what some other people have told me. So I bought solenoid A black connector not brown, this solenoid I'm pretty sure controls 1st to 2nd. I am not sure if its the right solenoid or not if it isn't which one do I need an where is the 1st to 2nd solenoid located?

What else does it do besides shifting heavily?
-Gear Hunt
-if you drive it manually and change from D1->D2 is it delayed or instant? (It should be instant regardless of throttle position and vehicle speed. Full throttle/idle all the the same)
-Does it have a hard time downshifting from 2nd when you slow down?

Also has he performed regular maintenance? Is the fluid good, not burnt or a dark red?
Have you checked the solenoids for debris?

Details por favor.

Is the kickdown cable adjusted properly?

Also please do test manual shifting as to rule out/open doors to this problem.

So what's it mean if it still does it when I manually shift it. Also everyone keeps telling my you can't flush a automatic Honda transmission. Is that true?

I believe that is true to not flush the Honda transmission. At least that is what the Honda dealer told me. So, they just drained and refilled mine.

Yes. There isn't a readily accessible filter, just an internal filter buried in the trans (trans needs to be removed and split open to replace) if you power flush the trans it will force all the dirt and debris trapped in the filter into the valve body and other passages in the trans where you don't want it to go.

My 2000 Civic has a harsh shift from 2 to 3 on light throttle. On heavier throttle is is fairly smooth. Is there a solenoid to control this?
