Input Shaftbearing noise?
In addition to a bearing noise when the clutch is released and the car idle..I have recently noticed a sound even while driving the car...
Below are my findings
I was investigating the bearing noise this afternoon and I found that when I rev the engine (reved it from inside the engine bay) I heard a very clear and loud bearing noise of some sort as I pressed the throttle to increase the revs... Basically there is a bearing noise at idle from the transmission, the noise gets more clear and louder as you rev the motor...Any ideas??/
What does this conclude?
The noise has become evident at low engine speeds while driving (clutch out)
I am 100% sure it is coming from the transmission. The alternator is on the driver side right? I forgot to check..
Does the starter have bearings in it? if there are bearings in the starter.. could this be causing noise?
Its not an engine noise at all. I am just unsure if it is the clutch and transmission or just the transmission on its own? When the transmission was originally put in about a year ago the bearing noise was evident but quiet it has progressively became louder over the past year.
I will be replacing the transmission within the month, I will report back my findings.

Re: Input Shaftbearing noise?
ok then what in the transmission or the clutch assembly would increase a "bearing noise" when the throttle is applied to raise the rpms?
