Default Carbon Synchro question

Hey guys,

Recently my b16 box started to get jammed in reverse, after doing a bit of searching ive found its possibly the 5-R syncro set so im going to order one. Now im just wondering, will I have any problems going to a carbon lined syncro over brass if im retaining all other oem syncros? The box feels perfect and has no grinds, just the jamming reverse.

Thanks guys

Shouldn't have any issue with the carbon-lined synchro really. The jamming in reverse could likely be worn 5th gear sleeve teeth though. You'll probably need the 5/R sleeve.

I would go ahead and order the holder as well. I have a lot of them come in with the holder tabs worn thus making the synchro for R almost pointless.

What do you mean by the holder? The sleeve?
