Whining noise from motor....
I have a '99 Hatch with the stock d16y7 motor. Whenever I'm driving the car will make a "whining noise" kinda like a whistle above 2,500 rpms. It does this in every gear.
Anyone know what this could be??
if you need some more details just ask, sorry to be so vauge, its just hard to describe something like this over the net.
thanks
chris

It could a number of things. You might have a vacuum leak or could be the pilot bearing on the fly. what part of the engine bay is the sound coming from.

Re: Whining noise from motor.... (CivicSiR94)
its pretty much shown that aftermarket clutches with greater clamping forces cause input bearings to go. I saw a page on it somewhere, can't remember where
