Default valve springs removal

just out of curiousity, whats the best method for compressing the springs and removing the clips besides buying the proper tool.

always trying to save a few bucks here and there

Removal is easy. Plug every oil drain back hole first. Get a socket with extension and a hammer. Place socket on top of valve spring retainer and strike. Collect all the pieces, have a magnet handy for all the pieces. Getting the back on requires a tool.
