Re: spoon oil pump, (One8Hatch)
i wasnt aware that it flows more but i know that the gear is made out of a better quality metal than stock. the toda oil pump is a stock unit with their gear which sells for about 250(gear only) and doesnt pump more but can withstand the rigorous duty of track and drag setups.

$250 for a gear thet Toda doesn even make, its amazing how much $ people will pay if it has some cool JDM brand on it like Toda, Spoon, etc

Im not sauying Toda doesnt make it, its just that many Japanese manufacturers dont make their own stuff(ie. spoon). Sorry if i miswrote that, im just sick of the whole "JDM is the best" craze

Taking out of archieves....
Here's the write up on the spoon oil pump... from "aj-racing.com"... it is NOT a stock pump... I'm sure they don't manufacture it themselves but it is entirely different than stock...
"The Spoon oil pump is a direct replacement of the stock unit and can be used with all B-series engines. It is made from a new material and manufacturing process that is different from the stock Honda unit. The result is a unit that is stronger, and higher quality than stock. The Spoon oil pump eliminates the peeling problem that commonly occurs with stock pumps and improves oil flow."
So does anyone have any experience with one of these things... or know if it does flow more or not???
The toda unit is just a gear that's better suited to harsh conditions... it is advertised as "better flowing"... so I don't know if it's more or just more efficient...
Any info would be appreciatted.

why? what kind of racing you do you? long endurance races or something?
the stock oil pump works fine for weekend racer activities and daily driving..

I'm racing to the moon and need one that will operate in zero gravity .
I'm just curious... I have no need for one but there's no info on it anywhere besides the write up they provide...
Just wanted to see if anyone here had gotten one or had experience with one.
