Assistance Needed: D-Series wiring /startup issue Y8 to Z6
I have a 1996 Honda Civic coupe. Originally it had a d16y8 in it. I slung a rod in it. So I put a d16z6 in it and used the y8 harness. I used the y8 intake w/ injectors. And I'm not a wiring expert but I'm a master at rigging crap to work so I took my z6 dizzy apart and put new orings and I put the guts of the y8 dizzy in the housing of the z6 dizzy and it ran fine till now so 4 months. I don't know much about hondas. So I went to the forums my problem is if I rev so far as 2,200rpm it falls on its face like it dies. So I changed the map sensor and no luck. So I read around and got the obd2a - obd1 ecu jumper harness. And still have the same problem. Please please help.

You should be throwing a CEL code.
If I recall the Y8 has the crank sensor while the Z6 does not.
Not sure how you could be driving without having a CEL when you are missing a sensor built into the Y8 harness.

that crank sensor is the CKF, crank fluctuation sensor. it looks to match a signal from the distributor to make sure timing is correct and there is not misfiring occurring. I believe it is a code 54 if not reading with a scanner.
