accord hesitation question
i placed this on the accord forum but i think its more of a tech question than just a accord question... my boy has a 2000 honda accord lx 4cyl auto and it has a stock intake. we removed the bottom box below intake filter that is in the fender and it ran fine for like a week every day to work and even a run to LA (1 1/2hr drive)....now it wont rev past 5k and it feels flat when he jumps on it.... the car feels like it has no power compared to stock.... we reset the computer and also changed the spark plugs and it still wont rev, no cel, no smoke, and even in neutral it wont rev past 5k ... could it have to do with the resonstor box(it doesnt have any sensors in it) or what are some other things that would cause that...any suggestions would be appreciated

does you car have any code at all. does the car feel like that when the car get hot or same as when you start the car up. Have you change your fuel filter, cap, rotor and check you spart plug to see if there are all black.

Re: accord hesitation question (rollinchassis)
yea we pulled the plugs and did a compression test, because i thought maybe it was a head gasket going south, the compression test was 185 all the way across. the plugs were black so its running hella rich. he was talking about bottom'ing out right before this started so if he damaged his cat that might cause this? no check engine light, noticed alittle smoke today smells like fuel but its verry little barly enough to notice.
