Jam nuts GC/Koni Yellow
Should these be completely tightened???
I was going through suspension pieces and noticed I could tighten these quite a bit and after doing it for a while, I stopped.

Still getting a clunking noise in the rear though.
What else should I check?

Instead of making sure that the jam nut is tight, you should make sure the primary nut below the jam nut is tight. Otherwise the shock could still be loose in the upper mount, which can cause a clunking sound. You'll need to prevent the shock shaft from spinning while tightening.

oohhh talking about the upper bushing nut etc.... thought you were talking about the piece that the spring sits on that adjusts up and down the shock body...

Ok this is seriously driving me nuts!!!!
I'm still getting a clunking sound and squeeking.
Sounds like its coming from the top hat area in the rear.

There is 1 nut that you need to tighten down to securely hold the shock shaft in place in the upper shock mount. Then, you install the second nut on top of that to prevent the first nut from loosening from vibrations, which acts as a jam nut.
Just making sure the jam nut is tight won't do much; and it doesn't need much torque either.

Re: Jam nuts GC/Koni Yellow
did you put the little metal sleeves onto the shock shaft that sits inside the top hat? I have seen people forget to put that in there.

There are not 2 "locking nuts".

I'm still getting a clunking noise in the rear.
Can someone tell me what my rear spring rates are? (0800-250-0350)

Just want to confirm that you have tightened the nuts separately. The first nut must be tight before you install the second one, or else you might not get it tightened all the way.

Didn't change the noise though...
I'm wondering if my spring rates are adequate?
Thinking about installing new rear top hats, and possibly new LCA's since the bushing on those are old and worn.

Re: Jam nuts GC/Koni Yellow
So, I'm wondering if I should be running a shorter than 8" spring in the rear?
Slightly tucking in the front and rear.
